Cyanotypes
Cyanotype collages and fragments on view at Cerulean Arts Gallery, July 2025
I’ve created a series of cyanotype prints based on photos taken at my previous print shop at Sharktown Studios located in Olde Kensington. My concerns about global warming and the crisis of climate change are expressed in these studies of nature and the city. While the threats to our future from human-caused climate change are real and serious, it’s important to celebrate the beauty of nature while we still can.
Working from oversized mylar negatives, I exposed sheets prepared with the cyanotype solution in small sections. Then I reassembled the images into larger collages. There are 6 large vertical panels, several mid-sized pieces, and a group of smaller individual sheets I call Fragments, as they are a small piece of the larger image.
